Meal Prep #1

Hi…

Welcome back ๐Ÿ˜˜

Hit the ‘follow’ button if you haven’t already ๐Ÿ˜˜

Today I’m gonna share with you my first attempt to meal prepping. I always wanted to start eating healthy but I don’t have the support I needed, my hubby is not into it and also the kids and also my mom, they love salt and always say that my cooking is tasteless. I know at some point salt is needed by our body, but we get it from other food such as chips and others.

I’m 38 now, desperately need to control my eating. So, I’m determined to start. Been watching meal prep videos on YouTube and I was trying to do the exact same thing, such as containers and all, then I never start waiting for having this and that ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Then last night I’ve done it. Finally! Like getting it off my chest ๐Ÿ˜‚ I’m doing it differently with the same ideas. I cook several different food, keeping it separately, so I can mix match them instead of eating the same meal for the whole week.

Let’s get started so I can elaborate it more to you ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Coleslaw. I like all kinds of salad. I make this for snack or just add it to my meal.

Sauteed bok choy with a lot of garlic, love garlic ๐Ÿ˜, and tomatoes (4 tomatoes).

I steam 1 kg of sweet potatoes.

Mashed potatoes without creamer. I just steamed it and mashed it with salt and pepper.

Brown rice. Cooked it in the rice cooker.

Chicken. I cut 500gr of boneless chicken breast into small cubes. Add a little of vegetable oil to the pan, add minced garlic (I don’t count, just a lot), add chicken, teriyaki sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, tomato sauce, pepper, a bit of water. All the sauces are just about a tablespoon. Cook it until the water is drying out. That’s all.

Steamed cauliflower and squash.

That’s it. That was all I was preparing. I could have mashed potatoes with chicken, cauliflower and coleslaw or brown rice with bok choy or anything I wanted. I can have a vegetarian menu also. Everyday will be a different meal ๐Ÿ˜‰

What do you think? I’m just a starter and will be experimenting here and there. But I think it’s a good start.

If you’re anything like me, try this one. Don’t wait until you have everything you wanted (usually for trying to do the same as others), start with what you have. And if you want varieties, do it like I did, so you can mix your meal as you wanted, instead of eating the same for the whole week, which can be a downer.

If you have any other ideas or suggestions, please comment below. I’d love to hear from you. And if you finally start your meal prepping, please tag me on Instagram.

Thank you and see you soon ๐Ÿ˜˜

The Struggleย

Sometimes writing can be a struggle even if you love to write. I plan to write everyday, thinking that if I commit, I’ll be a good writer/blogger. But things happen.

Me as a sahm/wahm, life can be a rollercoaster. Plus as a normal human being, I have problems, and that can be an inspiration or a disaster ๐Ÿ˜

One week, I wrote nothing for days, then I wrote 4 blogs in a day. I wasn’t thinking of scheduling those blogs, I just post all in 1 day. Then when I have the time to sit quitely in my computer, focusing only to my blog, I noticed it’s a ‘mistake’.

If I post all 4 blogs in 1 day, only 1 blog would be noticeable, and I have inconsistent archive shown in my website. So, I went to my insight, look at the graphics, took notes on the most popular hours of my viewers, and start rescheduling my blogs.

I now schedule my post on the same time (around a specific time) everyday. So now I don’t have to worry about posting a blog every single day, coz I already have blogs scheduled for the next few days.

I can spend more time with my kids and focusing on other things. If you love to write and having the same struggle with me, it’s fine, we’re all struggling.

Don’t stop writing, just move on, write whenever you have the inspiration, save it, schedule it, enjoy your life ๐Ÿ˜˜

DIY Dehumidifier – Failed?

Hi…

Welcome back ๐Ÿ˜˜

Hit the ‘follow’ button if you haven’t already ๐Ÿ˜˜

I’ve been trying to try this hack. Been Googling, YouTube, and on Pinterest. Found some hacks and finally decided to try on this one.

Since I’ve moved to this house, I’ve been dealing with extreme humidity. In my room. Only. Especially in my walking closet. How? I don’t know ๐Ÿ™„

I’ve been finding my clothes and bags covered with fungus ๐Ÿ˜ญ So I bought these dehumidifiers. All for my walking closet ๐Ÿ˜ช

Oh… I put one in the kid’s room, just to keep their room humid free. Even though they have no problem at all with humidity. You know… Moms do extraordinary things for their kids ๐Ÿ˜‰ *excuses excuses

As you can see, full of water in less than 3 months.

Now I’m gonna wash them all clean, without soap.

It’s now empty.

I’m using this block salts for cooking andโ€‹ I’m gonna use it now as a dehumidifier.

Mashed one block.

Pour into the container.

I pour in 4 blocks of salts into the containers and I addย activated charcoalย to all of them.

Put the lid on and done.

I’m gonna give you an update after a week and see if it works. You can try it now with me too and we informed each other. Sounds good? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you for joining me ๐Ÿ˜˜ I’ll see you next week with an update ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Thrifting – Clean With Me – Kitchen Aid Toaster

Hi…

Welcome back ๐Ÿ˜˜

Hit the ‘follow’ button if you haven’t already ๐Ÿ˜˜

A week ago I thrift a toaster. I’ve been wanting a toaster for a very long time. I love butter toast. With a lot of butter. Yum ๐Ÿ˜‹

So I bought this toaster from my cousin. In this condition ๐Ÿ˜…

Such a dishonor to the toaster right ๐Ÿ˜‚ I am determined to clean it as if it’s new. I used vacuum and butter brush to clean the burner. And I used damp cloth with baking soda to clean the grease. Then I finished with cleaning all the surface with my vinegar water spray.

The finish product…

Shine and clean as new ๐Ÿ˜

You don’t have to spend a lot to get what you need. Thrifting can save you tons of money. Make sure that its in a good condition and works (for electrical products). Clean them thoroughly, make them shine as new, you wouldn’t even remember that you thrift ๐Ÿ˜

Stationary Supplies – School Haul – Back To School

Hi…

Welcome back ๐Ÿ˜˜

Please hit the ‘follow’ button if you haven’t already ๐Ÿ˜˜

Today I’m gonna share what I bought for the kid’s school stationary supplies. I bought it at a traditional stationary store coz it’s cheaper. If I bought it from a bookstore in a mall, I would have spent more.

These are what I got.

I don’t need to buy books coz the kids still have used books with empty pages. Lots of them. So we’re gonna reuse them.

2 packs of loose leaf binder papers for my mom binder and Abe’s tutor binder. It is 9k/pack.

10 tubes of glue for the kids arts and crafts. 43.500/10pcs.

Book covers. I have boys. You know how reckless they are. So I need to protect the books from tearing apart before the school year has finished ๐Ÿ˜…. The chocolate cover is for Al, 1.500/roll of 10 sheets. The plastic roll is 7k. The big plastic cover is 7k/10sheets. The small plastic cover is 6k/10sheets.

Abe used to be using Joyko Pino Gel Pen, but they don’t have them again. So, I switch to this. Better quality in the same price of 26k/box of 12pcs. I bought 2 boxes.

Pencils for Al. He’s in 3rd grade, still using pencils. It is 8k/box of 12pcs. This brand quality is okay compare to other brand that are way more expensive than this, some are in a price of 35k/box ๐Ÿ˜จ But the kids are gonna sharpen it over and over again (well, my kids do. They don’t like blunt edge), they’ll spend a lot of pencils in a semester. And I’m not spending more money for pencils.

Glue sticks for arts and crafts. It is 21k/12pcs.

Pencil cases. The kids are having so many things in their pencil cases. Scissor, pen, pencil, eraser, etc. They need a not too big case, but still can accommodate their need. It is 6k/case.

I still have lots of erasers, so we’re gonna use them. Save money from reusing what can be reuse and check your supplies so you don’t buy the same things ๐Ÿ˜‰

I hope this can inspire you in preparing the kid’s school supplies. Time goes by, without you noticing it, it’s time to be back to school and you haven’t prepare ๐Ÿ˜จ You’ll definitely end up paying more, coz all the discounts are gone ๐Ÿ˜”

DITL – Food Stocking – Meal Prep – Food Prep

Hi…

Welcome back ๐Ÿ˜˜

Please hit the ‘follow’ button if you haven’t already ๐Ÿ˜˜

I got up pretty early as in summer I don’t get up early ๐Ÿ˜‚ I went to the wet market.

I spent 2 hours here… Gross ๐Ÿ˜ซ But this is the only place I can get live fish and live chicken. They’re all fresh so I can keep them longer in the freezer.

Now let me show you what I bought and what I do with them ๐Ÿ˜„

Bought 1kg of fresh strawberries. It is way cheaper if I got it from the wet market. A 250g box of strawberries at the supermarket is about 40k. In the wet market, I paid 80k for 1kg.

Washed and cut.

I portioned them and keep in the smoothie bin.

2kg of papaya.

Washed, cut, portioned, keep in the fridge so we can snack at them. We like them cold ๐Ÿ˜

7kg of 4 kinds of fishes. Washed and seasoned. I just need to thaw and cook ๐Ÿ‘Œ

4kg of chicken thighs and 2kg of chicken breast fillets. Washed and seasoned.

Been on my feet for 6 hours straight, washed, prep all the fish and chicken, total of 13kg ๐Ÿ˜จ

My feet hurts and my hands are painfullyโ€‹ cut from the fish ๐Ÿ˜ฐ But it doesn’t stop me from thanking Lord for the blessing.

I wouldn’t be exhausted from going to the wet market and food preparing if He doesn’t bless me. My heart is full of gratitude ๐Ÿ™

Home Organization – Declutter, Purge, Organize – CD Collection

Hi…

Welcome back ๐Ÿ˜˜

Hit the ‘follow’ button if you haven’t already ๐Ÿ˜˜

Today I have time and the mood of doing some purging and organization, so I decided to take control of our CD collection. We have hundreds of CDs.

We love watching movies. We used to race to the cinema for premiers and then we buy the CD to watch again at home. Such a waste ๐Ÿ™„ Cinemas are expensive and we have to pay 4 tickets and only 2 tickets if it’s only me and hubby, but still… With buying snacks and drinks, it double up the cost ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

Now it’s been months since the last time we went to cinema, so we end up stocking up our collection before I have the chance to purge and reorganize them.

It’s summer, the kids have no school for almost 2 months ๐Ÿ˜ช I think it’s time to watch some old movies. But first… Let’s get working ๐Ÿ˜Ž

It’ll get worst before it gets better ๐Ÿ˜

Who’s still in love with Friends??? I have complete season 1-10, still watch them for the hundreds times, and still laugh like it’s my first ๐Ÿ˜‚ I don’t think there’s no competition after all this years. They’re still the best ๐Ÿ‘Œ

I use this CD sleeves to maximize space. I don’t keep the picture coz the CD have the title anyway and I always can reuse it for other movies. It is 2 sided so it’s perfect for series. And of course coz it’s cheap. 100 sleeves for only IDR 17k.

Trash. I’ve decided to change the paper CD envelope to the sleeve’s one coz papers got torn easily.

I clean up the space with water and vinegar spray as always ๐Ÿ˜‰

Final product ๐Ÿ‘Œ

1. A box of our essentials. Kajuputih, nail clippers, vaporub, cotton buds, mosquito repellent, etc. It’s the box that we go to everyday.

2. A box of cables and chargers for our gadgets.

3. CD music collection.

4. The kid’s movies.

5. Adult’s movies. New movies + TV series collection.

6. Adult’s movies. Thriller and horror.

7. Adult’s movies. Action movies.

8. Adult’s movies. Drama, comedy, true story.

Nothing’s too complicated. But if it’s organized, it’s easier for us to look for a movie rather than spending a lot of time looking through hundreds of CDs.

How’s your movie collection? It’s summer. Time for some old movies ๐Ÿ˜‰

Home Organization – Coat Corner – Launch Pad

Hi…

Welcome back! ๐Ÿ˜˜

Please hit the ‘follow’ button if you haven’t already ๐Ÿ˜˜

I want to show you my new arrangement on the coats. We have a launch pad at the entryway. I will have a different post on that.

It’s behind our front door. It’s out of the way, hidden, yet easy to access.

I bought a cheap plastic hooks. Broken in weeks ๐Ÿ˜ฐ I had 5 hooks, to 4, to 3, to 2, to 1, to no hooks and I had to hung the coats in the shoes closet handle ๐Ÿ˜จ

So hubby, was working on something and tadaaaaa… We have a coat corner ๐Ÿ‘

He’s using kitchen rod and S hangers used to hang pans and pots in our old apartment ๐Ÿ˜

The S hangers are really handy. I can take it out and hook it again, depends on how many coats we have that week.

Reuse and repurpose ๐Ÿ‘Œ No money spent ๐Ÿ‘

Do you have something to organize? Shop your house ๐Ÿ˜‰

Graduation Series – Book Cleaning & Purgeย

Abe is now going to Primary School, so he definitely doesn’t need those books and papers anymore.

It’s time to clean up and purge. Come along with me ๐Ÿค“

I’m gonna check on notebooks that can be reuse, books that are going to be handed down to Al, some crafts to keep in the kid’s memorabilia box, and books to donate.

The chaos…

These are the books to keep for Al.

These are the Abe’s tests from grade 4-6.

I’m gonna keep it for Al. I put it in a bag so it won’t get dusty.

These are the notebooks.

I sure not buying anymore notebooks. I’m gonna buy some plastic cover for it and the kids are gonna reuse it. I cut all the written pages, so it’s clean to reuse.

Donating these. I’m gonna give some preschool and kindergarten books to my niece.

These are the clean pages I cut from books.

I’m gonna use it for my binders or clip them for the kid’s notes. Certainly not wasting anything ๐Ÿ‘

These are trash.

The end product.

For now, I’m gonna leave it like that. Waiting for Al to finish his final exams, so I can get to a thorough cleaning up.

That’s it for now. I will come back with the next cleaning and purging Al’s books. And will definitely take you to join my back to school preparation.

Please hit the ‘follow’ button so you don’t miss all the fun ๐Ÿ˜
