Banana Bread Pudding Recipe

I was getting up in the morning and tried to find something for breakfast. When I opened the fridge, I saw a packet of bread. I think it’s been there quite a while. So, I was thinking why not make something out of it.

Well… I have bread, eggs, milk, and banana. Let’s do it!

I’m not good at writing recipes. So, bear with me ya πŸ˜„

I just tear the bread and put them all pile up together like this using a Pyrex bowl.

These are the ingredients I used. Cheap and handy (available in most kitchen right?).

I mix them all together.

Oh… I add a tsp of vanilla. I pour the egg mix onto the pile of bread.

Baked for about 10-15 minutes.

Easy. Quick. Yum!

Meal Prep #1

Welcome back 😘

Hit the ‘follow’ button if you haven’t already 😘

Today I’m gonna share with you my first attempt to meal prepping. I always wanted to start eating healthy but I don’t have the support I needed, my hubby is not into it and also the kids and also my mom, they love salt and always say that my cooking is tasteless. I know at some point salt is needed by our body, but we get it from other food such as chips and others.

I’m 38 now, desperately need to control my eating. So, I’m determined to start. Been watching meal prep videos on YouTube and I was trying to do the exact same thing, such as containers and all, then I never start waiting for having this and that 😌

Then last night I’ve done it. Finally! Like getting it off my chest πŸ˜‚ I’m doing it differently with the same ideas. I cook several different food, keeping it separately, so I can mix match them instead of eating the same meal for the whole week.

Let’s get started so I can elaborate it more to you πŸ‘Œ

Coleslaw. I like all kinds of salad. I make this for snack or just add it to my meal.

Sauteed bok choy with a lot of garlic, love garlic 😁, and tomatoes (4 tomatoes).

I steam 1 kg of sweet potatoes.

Mashed potatoes without creamer. I just steamed it and mashed it with salt and pepper.

Brown rice. Cooked it in the rice cooker.

Chicken. I cut 500gr of boneless chicken breast into small cubes. Add a little of vegetable oil to the pan, add minced garlic (I don’t count, just a lot), add chicken, teriyaki sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, tomato sauce, pepper, a bit of water. All the sauces are just about a tablespoon. Cook it until the water is drying out. That’s all.

Steamed cauliflower and squash.

That’s it. That was all I was preparing. I could have mashed potatoes with chicken, cauliflower and coleslaw or brown rice with bok choy or anything I wanted. I can have a vegetarian menu also. Everyday will be a different meal πŸ˜‰

What do you think? I’m just a starter and will be experimenting here and there. But I think it’s a good start.

If you’re anything like me, try this one. Don’t wait until you have everything you wanted (usually for trying to do the same as others), start with what you have. And if you want varieties, do it like I did, so you can mix your meal as you wanted, instead of eating the same for the whole week, which can be a downer.

If you have any other ideas or suggestions, please comment below. I’d love to hear from you. And if you finally start your meal prepping, please tag me on Instagram.

Thank you and see you soon 😘

Mamabe Toge GorengΒ

Welcome back 😘

Hit the ‘follow’ button if you haven’t already… I’d love to have you join my blog family πŸ’ž

Now I’d like to share my recipe of Toge Goreng. Toge Goreng is Sundanese food. I seldom cook this coz the kids don’t like it. I usually only make this for me and my husband. It’s very simple. Shall we?

This is all you need… Noodle, bean sprouts, tomato, garlic, onion, chili padi, soy sauce, tauco (tauchu), and oncom.

Tomato, chilli padi, onion, garlic. Some people blend them, I like them just like this.

Saute them. Start from onion then garlic then tomato.

Add soy sauce and tauco.

Add oncom. Mix them together and kinda smash them a bit so you’ll get lil chunks.

Add a glass of water.

Cook them until the water is reduced and kinda thick like this…

Seasoned with salt and sugar to your taste.

Boil the noodle and bean sprouts. Don’t overcooked them. You just need a minute or two.

Plate the noodle, bean sprouts, add the oncom sauce, garnish with spring onion and fried onion.

Yum πŸ˜‹

Simple right? I don’t have much time in the kitchen. I have so so so many things to do. I gotta find a simple way to cook. That’s why I normally don’t follow any original recipe 😁 You should try this πŸ˜‰

Mamabe Vegetables Soup

Welcome back! And if you haven’t follow… Click the β€˜follow’ button, I’d love to have you as my blog family πŸ˜„

As usual I will share my very simple recipe. Nothing’s fancy. Just a simple cook with simple ingredients. In Indonesia, we call it Sayur Sop. You can add meatball, sausage, beef, chicken, anything. Sayur sop is mostly cook with carrot, potato, cabbage, broccoli, and french bean. Its very easy.

Boil some water. Because its a soup, you need to have a lot of water. I put in a chicken bone as a stock. I cook it till the water lessen to half.

While waiting for the chicken stock, I cut the vegetables. Today I’m having carrot, french bean, cauliflower, and cabbage. You need to put in the longest cooked veggies 1st (in my case is the carrot) then adding them one by one till its all cooked with the texture you want.

Add in salt, sugar, pepper, a sliced tomato and fried onions. Taste to your palate. Its done! Easy right? Try it and you’ll love it πŸ™‚

Thank you for joining me and I’ll see you in my next recipe.

Love y’all

Mamabe Tomato Sardines

Welcome back! And if you haven’t follow… Click the β€˜follow’ button, I’d love to have you as my blog family πŸ€—

Now I wanna share my own recipe of tomato sardines. I’m a mom that cook in ‘my way’. I taste a food then I kinda work on the recipe. I make it simple and edible to my family, especially my boys.

Let’s get started…

Onion, garlic, ginger, and tomato. You can use as much as you need or as little as you want and it depend on how much is your fish. I have 1kg of fish.

Blend them together.

Fried the fish. You need to fry the fish till its done but not too dry.

Use the same pan to cook. Coz that sticky fish is a fish stock.

Heat the pan and put in the blended seasoning. Cook till its darker in color.

Add in a sliced tomato. Cook till the tomato is soggy.

Add in the fish.

Add in water.

Add in sugar, salt, pepper, and ketchup. Add in lil by lil till its suitable to your palate. Cook for another 5 minutes or till the water is thickened.

Tadaaaaaaa… The final product πŸ˜€

I don’t have any tips coz its very easy to make. As long as you have fresh fish, it should taste great.

See you in my next recipe and thank you for joining me πŸ™‚

Love y’all

Mamabe Mac & Cheese Recipe

Welcome back! Don’t forget to hit the’follow’ button so you don’t miss all the fun and I’d love you to join my blog family πŸ’ž

I’m back here with my recipe. Most of my recipes are here and there scrambling things kinda recipes. I shop my house, mix some things up and we got a treat πŸ˜€ No fancy ingredients and no fancy appliances.

Okay… I’m gonna jump right in πŸ˜‰

It was Friday and I didn’t cook something special for my kiddos, just some fried fish with no side dishes. No snacks in the pantry nor the fridge. So I was thinking what could I do to make this weekend a bit special for them πŸ€”

I open my pantry ( a cabinet I called as my pantry) and found some ingredients, gather them…

Half cooked the macaroni

Add 4 eggs, Bolognese sauce, pepper, salt. Mix it all together.

Cover the pan with margarine and pour in the mix to the pan

Sprinkle singles cheese on top. You can use whatever cheese you have. I only have singles, so I use singles πŸ˜‰

Like this πŸ˜‹

Put in the steamer and cook for about 10-15 minutes. My boys don’t like them baked coz it’ll dried the top layer, they prefer that I steam them.

Tadaaaaa… A weekend treat for my kiddos 😎

Note : leave the pan in steamer for 5 minutes after you turn off the stove. It’ll absorb all the liquid so you won’t have mushy Mac & Cheese.

I hope it inspires and motivates you to be productive with what you have. Don’t wait for a perfect ingredients or appliances to treat your family. Look for anything around the kitchen, gather them and your mommy instinct will work instantly. Especially when you need to live frugally like me, any dust can turn to diamond (per say) πŸ˜‰

I shop my house. Zero spend. Happy tummy. Smiley faces. What else would a mom wants? 😍😘

Mamabe Chocolate Cake Recipe

Welcome back! And if you haven’t follow… Click the ‘follow’ button, I’d love to have you as my blog family πŸ˜„

I’ve been craving for chocolate cake. Like soooooooo long. But I have to push it aside coz right now, every cent counts. I’ve been trying to ignore it then I just can’t stand anymore. I need to have a chocolate cake!!!

I just came back from sending Abe to tutor. Open my fridge and pantry. Look here and there. Gather all I (think) need. Coz frankly… I’m not a good Baker. I followed a recipe, trying to be exact with every single step. But everytime I tried to be as obedient, everytime I failed πŸ’”

So… I’m just going with my guts here. Took some pictures, if it’s ok then I’ll post a recipe. If it failed then I don’t post πŸ˜‚

I shop my house…

All purpose flour, eggs, margarine, sugar, vanilla extract, chocolate. I don’t know the exact measurements but I’ll try to share πŸ˜„

Bain-marie the chocolate and margarine. About 100gr each.

Butter the ramekins and dust with flour.

Beat 4tbs sugar and eggs till it well mixed.

Add 1tsp vanilla and 2tbs flour. Mix it together.

Pour in melting chocolate lil by lil to the eggs mixture.

Pour into the ramekins. Don’t get to full coz it’ll raise.

Bake it for 5-7 minutes if you want a melted chocolate lava cake version or bake for 10 minutes if you want a cake version. Both are delicious 😘

I have strawberries in the fridge and I still have the melting chocolate in the pan, so I made a strawberry fondue-ish πŸ˜‚

I hope you can make it your own and the best part is… You get to share with your family. My kids looooooove it. It’s been so long that they don’t get a sweet treat. Al finished off 2 cakes, I share 1 cake with hubby and I keep 1 for Abe when he gets home. 4 cakes, zero spending, happy tummy, smiley faces… What else would a mom wants? πŸ˜„πŸ˜˜
